इंस्पेक्टर जनरल ऑफ़ पुलिस, अब्दुर रहमान ने बीते बुधवार को संसद में नागरिकता संशोधन बिल पास होने के विरोध में इस्तीफ़ा दे दिया.
ट्वीट करते हुए अब्दुर रहमान ने अपना निर्णय सुनाया. रहमान ने कहा,
The #CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019 is against the basic feature of the Constitution. I condemn this Bill. In civil disobedience I have decided not attend office from tomorrow. I am finally quitting the service.@ndtvindia@IndianExpress #CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019 pic.twitter.com/Z2EtRAcJp4

अपने इस्तीफ़े में रहमान ने ये कहा कि उनकी वीआरएस को गृह मंत्रालय ने स्वीकार नहीं किया है. उन्होंने ये भी कहा कि उनके ख़िलाफ़ कोई Show Cause नोटिस नहीं है. इस लिहाज़ से उनका आवेदन स्वीकार न करना नियमों के ख़िलाफ़ है.
