सोशल मीडिया के दौर में कौन, कब और कैसे वायरल हो जाये कुछ कहा नहीं जा सकता. 

इन दिनों एक ऐसी ही तस्वीर ख़ूब वायरल हो रही है जिसमें लिखा है कि ‘देखिये इस IAS लड़की को, जो अपने रिक्शा चालक पिता को दुनिया से रूबरू करा रही है’.

तस्वीर और उसमें लिखा हुआ संदेश अच्छा है लेकिन इसकी सचाई क्या है ये लोगों को नहीं पता. बावजूद इसके सोशल मीडिया पर हज़ारों लोग इस तस्वीर को लगातार शेयर कर रहे हैं. इस तस्वीर को शेयर करने वालों की लिस्ट में आम लोग ही नहीं बल्कि बड़े-बड़े राजनेता भी हैं.

इन्हीं में से एक हैं तमिलनाडु से कांग्रेस नेता डॉ. जे असलम बाशा. असलम ने Tweet करते हुए लिखा ‘आईएएस टॉपर, अपने पिता को लोगों के सामने पेश करती हुई इन्हें और इनके पिता को ग्रैंड सलाम…’

असलम के इस Tweet की ख़ास बात ये रही कि इसे कांग्रेस के बड़े नेता और तिरुवनंतपुरम से सांसद शशि थरूर समेत अन्य नेताओं ने भी Re-tweet किया है. उनके इस Tweet को अब तक 2,600 से ज़्यादा Likes मिल चुके हैं.

सोशल मीडिया पर जिस तस्वीर को IAS बेटी और रिक्शा चालक पिता के तौर पर शेयर किया जा रहा है दरअसल उसकी सच्चाई कुछ और ही है.

इस तस्वीर को इस तरीके से पेश किये जाने पर श्रमोना पोद्दार नाम की एक ट्रेवल ब्लॉगर ने इसे झूठा बताया है. दरअसल इस तस्वीर में जो लड़की दिखाई दे रही है वो श्रमोना हैं और वो IAS नहीं बल्कि एक ट्रेवल ब्लॉगर हैं. ये तस्वीर उनके फ़ोटोग्राफ़र ने उस वक़्त खींची थी जब वो इसी साल अप्रैल में कोलकाता घूमने गयी थी.

श्रमोना ने कहा ‘जब मुझे ये पता चला की मेरी तस्वीर सोशल मीडिया पर ग़लत तरीके से वायरल की जा रही है तो हैरान रह गई. सिर्फ आम लोग ही नहीं बल्कि कई बड़े पॉलिटीशियन भी मेरी इस तस्वीर को शेयर करने में लगे हुए हैं. मुझे हैरानी तब हुई जब शशि थरूर जैसे बड़े राजनेता ने इसे अपने लाखों फ़ैंस के लिए Retweet किया. मुझे हर दिन हज़ारों कॉल, मैसेज, मीडिया मेल, शेयर, टैग और कॉमेंट्स किये जा रहे हैं इन सबसे में बहुत परेशान हो चुकी हूं. मेरे इस पोस्ट के बाद आप समझ ही गए होंगे कि तस्वीर के साथ जो फ़ैलाया जा रहा है वो सरासर ग़लत है. मैं सोशल मीडिया के लोगों से अपील करना चाहती हूं कि लोगों के बीच इस तस्वीर को लेकर ग़लत संदेश न दें और आगे से मुझे परेशान न करें’.

Since childhood, whenever I used to visit the north and central part of Calcutta essentially, I would feel sympathetic everytime I would spot a hand pulled rickshaw, thereby choosing not to use them. Until recently when my sympathy coincided with the realization that we’re helping to earn their bread and butter only when we’re taking a ride. So last time I was in Calcutta, the #wildcraftwildling in me decided to pull a handpull rickshaw instead, to see how difficult and strenuous it really is. I asked the rickshaw uncle to have a seat while I pulled him around on the streets of Shobhabazar, tickling the bell at intervals while the whole street stood and watched in awe. I realized though there’s a lot of mechanism involved, it wasn’t a piece of cake at all. All my years of inquistiveness transpired to salutation for the extreme precision and relentless efforts that go in during each trip made. Yet each day they wake up with the same enthusiasm to battle the odds. इस तस्वीर की असल सचाई का पता श्रमोना पोद्दार के Instagram अकाउंट से भी पता चल जायेगा. 5 महीने पहले इंस्टाग्राम पर शेयर इस तस्वीर में श्रमोना ने लिखा कि ‘मुझे हमेशा से ही नॉर्थ और सेंट्रल कोलकाता बेहद पसंद है. ख़ासकर यहां आकर मुझे हाथ से खींचे जाने वाले रिक्शा की सवारी करना और उनके साथ मस्ती करना बेहद पसंद है. उसी मस्ती के बीच की ये एक तस्वीर मेरे दिल के बेहद क़रीब है. इस उम्र में भी ये लोग कितनी ज़्यादा मेहनत करते हैं. तमाम तकलीफ़ों के बावजूद ये लोग अपनी ड्यूटी बख़ूबी निभाते हैं.

The woman I am in my head has got it all sorted. She says the right things and does the right stuff. Chooses head over heart and keeps her emotions in place. Her face never loses a smile, her hair always smells fine and if at all provoked, counting one to ten actually works for her. She works out daily, wakes up before sunrise, barely has any cheat days and sees things with a rational mind. The woman in my head works without a break, talks with the right pauses and when thought of perfection, she is the first one to be associated. But here’s the truth, the woman in my head, in reality is nothing like the woman I am. The woman I am laughs too hard and cries too often. She loves too much and sometimes gets her heart broken. Her head is full of ideas but she’s often a mess, spends some days worrying too much and her nights putting them in a phrase. She sometimes loses her strength, can not always put up a fight, at times loses her temper, but always stands for what is right. The woman I am has crooked teeth and often forgets to brush her hair, sleeps too much, talks too loud, has barely got her future sorted. But as it turns out, I am beginning to like this one a lot more than the one in my head 🙂
