हर साल 8 अक्टूबर को भारतीय वायु सेना दिवस मनाया जाता है. और आज भारतीय वायु सेना का 88वां स्थापना दिवस है. इस दौरान शानदार परेड और भव्य एयर शो का आयोजन हुआ. दिल्ली के पास ग़ाज़ियाबाद में हिंडन एयर बेस पर एक शानदार एयर शो आयोजित किया गया.
इस साल भारतीय वायु सेना दिवस हर बार से ज़्यादा ख़ास था क्योंकि पहली बार नए अधिग्रहीत राफ़ेल फ़ाइटर जेट्स को शो का हिस्सा बनाया गया. पांच राफ़ेल जेट को औपचारिक रूप से 10 सितंबर को भारतीय वायुसेना में शामिल किया गया था, जिससे भारत की वायु शक्ति को काफ़ी बढ़ावा मिला है.
भारतीय वायु सेना के इतिहास और महत्व के बारे में जान लीजिए:
8 अक्टूबर 1932 को वायुसेना की स्थापना हुई थी इसीलिए हर साल 8 अक्टूबर वायुसेना दिवस मनाया जाता है.
NDTV के अनुसार, वायु सेना एयर चीफ़ मार्शल आर.के.एस भदौरिया ने कहा,
सभी वायु योद्धाओं को मेरी तरफ़ से बधाई मैं दुनिया के उन वायु योद्धाओं की ओर से सभी भारतीयों को आश्वस्त करना चाहता हूं कि भारतीय वायु सेना हमारी रक्षा के लिए सीमाओं पर हमेशा तैयार है.
इन्होंने आगे कहा,
जैसा कि हम 89वें वर्ष में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं, IAF एक परिवर्तनकारी बदलाव के दौर से गुज़र रहा है. हम एक ऐसे युग में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं, जहां हम एयरोस्पेस पॉवर को नियोजित करेंगे और एकीकृत मल्टी-डोमेन का संचालन करेंगे.
इस दौरान राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद, उपराष्ट्रपति वेंकैया नायडू, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह और अन्य मंत्रियों और नेताओं ने वायु सेना दिवस पर वायु योद्धाओं को शुभकामनाएं दीं.

इसके अलावा आज के समारोह में चीफ़ ऑफ़ डिफ़ेंस स्टाफ़ जनरल बिपिन रावत, थल सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल एमएम नरवाना और नौसेना स्टाफ़ के प्रमुख एडमिरल करमबीर सिंह ने शिरकत की. भारतीय वायु सेना प्रमुख एयर चीफ़ मार्शल राकेश कुमार सिंह भदौरिया ने भारतीय वायु सेना दिवस परेड का निरीक्षण किया. साथ ही वायु सेना दिवस पर स्क्वॉड्रन लीडर शिवांगी राजावत के नेतृत्व में निशानी टोली मार्च का भी आयोजन किया गया.
