भारत के पूर्व वित्त मंत्री, बीजेपी के वरिष्ठ नेता और लोक सभा सांसद अरुण जेटली का निधन हो गया. वे 66 वर्ष के थे.
2014 में जब बीजेपी ने लोकसभा चुनाव जीता तब सभी को पता था कि प्रधानमंत्री कौन बनने वाला है. मोदी ने जेटली को अपना वित्त मंत्री चुना. जेटली ने पत्र लिखकर मोदी से अनुरोध भी किया था कि उन्हें वित्त मंत्री न चुना जाए क्योंकि वे अपने स्वास्थ्य पर ध्यान देना चाहते हैं.
पेशे से वक़ील रहे जेटली उन कुछ नेताओं में से हैं जिन्हें इंदिरा गांधी ने आपातकाल के दौरान जेल भेजा था.
