निर्भया केस के 4 दोषियों को आज (20 मार्च), सुबह 5:30 बजे फांसी दी गई. अक्षय ठाकुर, विनय शर्मा, पवन गुप्ता और मुकेश सिंह को 2013 में एक ट्रॉयल कोर्ट ने फांसी की सज़ा सुनाई थी.
Times of India की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पोस्टमार्टम के बाद चारों के शरीर को उनके परिवारवालों को सौंप दिया जाएगा. तिहाड़ जेल के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि फांसी के पहले की रात चारों ने बेचैनी में बिताई.
तिहाड़ जेल के डायरेक्टर जनरल (डीजी) ने ये भी बताया कि दोषियों ने कोई आख़िरी इच्छा ज़ाहिर नहीं की थी.

Times of India की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, तिहाड़ जेल के बाहर सैंकड़ों लोगों ने तिरंगा लेकर ‘भारत माता की जय’ और निर्भया की जाबांज़ी पर नारे लगाये. लोगों ने मिठाइयां बांट कर ख़ुशियां मनाई.
