अब तक हम सस्ते इंटरनेट की दुनिया में जी रहे थे. 400 रुपये की रिचार्ज कराने पर 3 महीने तक सब मुफ़्त. सभी नेटवर्क का कमोबेश यही हाल था. जिन लोगों ने इनकमिंग कॉल तक के लिए पैसे भरे हैं, उन्हें इसकी असली खुशी पता है.
फिर Jio ने घोषणा की कि वो दूसरे नेटवर्क पर आउटगोइंग के पैसे लेगी. सपनों के शीश महल में एक दरार पड़ गयी. लोग एयरटेल और वोडाफ़ोन की ओर देखने लगे, धमकियां दी जाने लगीं कि नंबर पोर्ट करवा लेंगे. फिर बाकी दोनों ने भी लोगों से बेवफाई कर, 25 प्रतिशत तक अपना टैरिफ़ महंगा करने की बात कह दी. लोग मन मसोस कर बैठ गए.
एयरटेल और वोडाफ़ोन ने अब कहा है कि वो अपने टैरिफ़ को 40 प्रतिशत तक बढ़ाएंगे. Jio के ग्राहक बड़े ख़ुश हुए कि चलो अच्छा हुआ कि नंबर पोर्ट नहीं कराया था. अगली सूचना उन्हें यह मिलती है कि उनका टैरिफ़ 42 प्रतिशत तक महंगा होने वाला है. लगभग मुफ़्त के इंटरनेट की आदत लग जाने के बाद लोगों को समझ नहीं आ रहा कि किसकी शरण में जाएं.
