‘जाको राखे साइयां मार सके ना कोई’ 

ये कहावत सिर्फ़ इंसानों पर ही लागू नहीं होती, बल्कि कई बार ये जानवरों के लिये भी सही साबित होती है. ये कहानी Millie नामक फ़ीमेल डॉग की है. कभी Millie भी दूसरे साधारण डॉग की तरह थी, पर आज हर किसी के लिये बेहद ख़ास है. इसकी वजह है कई संघर्षों के बाद भी उसका ज़िंदा रहना. Millie के बारे में लोगों को तब पता चला जब इसकी कहानी ITV के ‘This Morning’ शो में दिखाई गई.

MILLIE THE TV STAR! _ At the beginning of the year I saw videos of a little dog with no nose. With in a month I was welcoming her into my home and heart! And now she is an advocate for all abused, abandoned and forgotten pets. This wouldn’t have been possible with out your help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. आपको जानकर हैरानी होगी कि Millie गन शॉट और सड़कों पर कुत्तों के हमले से ज़िंदा बच चुकी है. हांलाकि, उसके चेहरे पर आप भयानक निशान देख सकते हैं. तमाम पीड़ा से गुजरने के बावज़ूद आज वो हमारे बीच है. इसका सारा श्रेय उसके इंसानी दोस्त Kasey Carlin को जाता है. कुत्तों द्वारा उसके चेहरे को लहुलूहान कर दिया गया था. वहीं प्लास्टिक सर्जरी के ज़रिये उसके चेहरे की हालत थोड़ी बेहतर की गई. 

शो के दौरान Millie के साथ हुई यातना सुनकर सभी हौरान थे. पूरा किस्सा सुनने के बाद कई लोगों की आंखों से आंसू भी छलक आये. Millie के अलावा Carlin के पास तीन अन्य कुत्ते भी हैं. वहीं अब वो Millie को भी एक बेहतर ज़िंदगी देने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं.

“I found my home! Thank you for helping me get here. I’m so excited my new mom can’t get a good photo of me!” -Millie #bemoremillie • • • • What day we have had! Millie and I have met for the first time today and I couldn’t put into words the love I feel for her. She is a firecracker! So full of energy and ready to play at all times. She is definitely ping to keep me and her sisters on our toes! • She’s had her dinner and drink and then went on to ravage the toy box! Tonight we are going to try and settle her in for the evening and then tomorrow I will begin introducing her to Maggie, Mishka and Bella. • I want to thank each and every person who donated to help me and @wild_at_heart_foundation get Millie and Mitya into the UK and more importantly thankful you for donating to get them the surgery they do desperately need.
